VDT-ALC senior high student bags title in national jingle writing, singing tilt

Known for its academic excellence, the University of Bohol Victoriano D. Tirol Advanced Learning Center earned another feathear on its cap after a senior high student from the school copped 1st place in the National Jingle Writing/Singing Contest during the 2018 National   Talents held last February 20 at Sofia Soller Hall, Foundation University, Dumaguete City.

Isabel Iris Tirol-Garsuta, Grade 12 student of VDT ALC bested other contestants coming from the 17 regions in the country in impromptu jingle writing and singing competition sponsored by the Department of Education (DepEd) and the Commission on Population (POPCOM).

Based on the theme, The Role of Adolescent Girls in Community Development which was announced on the spot, the participants were only given 1 hour to compose the jingle and another 30 minutes preparation prior to the singing competition.

Garsutais the official representative of Tagbilaran City as 1stplacer in Tagbilaran City Division level and Central Visayas being the 1stplacer in the regional level. She was chaperoned by Coach Mary Ann T. Banoc, a faculty member of VDT-ALC.

Isabel Garsuta is the daughter of Lt. Col. Lino N. Garsuta and Marissa Tirol-Garsuta of Cainget District, Tagbilaran City.(labboncales)
