UB pushes Operation Tabang Para SaUBan: Bangon Marawi

In line with its corporate social responsibility, the University of Bohol through the Community Extension Services Office (CESO), Student Affairs Officer (SAO), Supreme Student Government (SSG) and the University of Bohol-Union of Employees (UBUE), handed a donation for the victims of the Marawi siege.

The group turned over the amount of P140,000.00 as donation to Marawi CityDepEd .

The amount was the proceeds of the successful Dagan Para sa UBan, a run for a cause participated in by industry partners, alumni, parents, administrators, employees and students of the university to help raise funds for the affected residents of Marawi City.

In a simple but fitting turning over ceremony, the donation was received by Pharida L. Sansarona, OIC Schools Division Superintendent of Marawi City, Faridah S. Balang, Division Cashier and Monaoray B. Taratingan, School Principal of Pendolonan Elementary School , the recipient school.  Pendolan Elementary was identified as beneficiary through the help of  Omar Sinsuat, Executive Director of Health Organization for Mindanao who also provided  logistical support to the team during the visit.

Operation Tabang Para sa UBan is a humanitarian response program of the University of Bohol in periods of disaster and calamity. The initiatives also include psycho-social debriefing to  home based internally displaced persons (IDPs) from Marawi City who seek refuge in the Muslim Villages in Tagbilaran City and the Province of Bohol. In addition, food packs and hygiene kits were distributed to respective IDPs. (mvfudalan)
