Tubigon stresses inclusive growth in foundation day

The push for inclusive growth was the centerpiece of the celebrations as Tubigon celebrated 199 years of existence as municipality last April 25.

The whole day affair started with a parade around the poblacion area wearing the colorful team uniforms.  The team names were taken from the most common words used by millennials nowadays such “petmalu” with yellow shirt; “beswa” mint green; “lodi” gray and “werpa” orange shirt.

The municipal officials and employees took a half day break from the usual work to grace the occasion. Frontline offices were personnel in order not to hamper the basic services for our constituents.

A holy mass was offered thanking God for all the blissful years despite the catastrophe we had encounted. Rev. Fr. Pantaleon Balatayo was officiating the mass held at the Cultural Center. Right after,

Tubigon mayor officially opened the parlor games participated by the four different teams.” In that event, the local government gave recognition to the two outstanding employees for their honesty and dedication by returning the lost money and wallet to the owners.  It’s very seldom to find employees like them that the items they found were returned instead of putting it to their own pocket.

The whole afternoon was the distribution of titles.  There were 165 free patents distributed to the land owners.  Personnel from the Registry of Deeds and Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) came to Tubigon to personally hand the land titles.  It is one way of getting the government closer to the people

About 58 Outstanding Tubignons were recognized in the evening. They are the ones who have excelled in their careers as board passers and achievers. The passers were teachers, doctors, lawyer, medical technologists, agriculturist, marine deck engineers, social worker and criminologist.

The awardees were treated with a dinner, together with the parents and the municipal officials. A dance number was performed by the Zumba Ladies headed by the First Lady Madame Eden B. Jao. Dyosa and Anyag sa Tubigon 2018 candidates were presented to the public for the first time. The reigning Anyag 2017, Lorrie Faye Licayan invited the crowd to witness the coronation night on the evening of May 13, 2018 while the Dyosa will be on May 11, 2018.
