Tubigon postpones fiesta this year due to polls

By  Jessica M. Inson-Wise

With restrictions due to the Election Day on May 14, Tubigon town and parish officials agreed to postpone the fiesta celebration in honor of St. Isidore the Farmer on May 15.

The Barangay and Sanggnuniang Kabataan election falls on May 14, the vesper of the fiesta. Comelec set lot of restrictions on the Election Day like liquor ban, cockfights and dances.   As we all know, a fiesta celebration would not be complete without food, liquor and merry making.

It’s an annual feast of enjoyment, fun and thanksgiving to the patron saint for a wonderful and blissful year.  So, the officials headed by Mayor William R. Jao and Parish Priest Gilbert Ilogon decided to postpone the fiesta.

However, the local government thru the Tourism Office headed by Miss Pauline Amelinckx prepared a series of activities for the 2018 Tanda Festival. The festival will start on May 6 until the 20th.
