Tubigon Mayor William Jao thanked the efforts of the workers at the local government unit that paved the way for the capturing of the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG).
Jao received the SGLG awarded to the town during the awarding ceremeony held at Manila Hotel, Manila last November 27.
Tubigon is one of four towns in Bohol awarded by the Department of Interior and Local Government for its good governance practices.
The seal is the highest award given by DILG to the local government units.
Jao said during the executive meeting that Tubigon is the only first class municipality in the province who received the award.
Tubigon won the SGLG second time in a row and he suggested that the plaques shall be mounted at the entrance of the new administrative building.
He was thankful to the employees who made a great contribution in getting the award.
Last year, seven municipalities in Bohol were recipients of SGLG. Due to stricter standards, only four towns in the province managed to capture the seal.
The province and Tagbilaran City also won the SGLG.
The seal is given to local government units which are able to pass the assessment criteria. The assessment criteria are focused on financial administration, disaster preparedness, social protection, peace and order, business friendliness and competitiveness, environmental protection and tourism, culture and arts.
Aside from the honor, getting the seal means the local government unit earns P 2 million, which can be used in various infra-structure projects of the municipality.
The mayor promised the barangay captains the cash incentive will be distributed to the different barangays in the form of projects.
