PH’s road king figures in accident in Clarin

CLARIN, Bohol – The country’s acknowledged king of the road again figured in another accident, claiming the life of a person a day after Christmas, reports said.

According to a release from the police provided to the media, a Southern Star Bus figured in an accident while riding a jeep as another man was injured in the same incident.

The fatality was identified as a certain Jomarlo Luvidica, 25, of barangay Tontunan, Clarin.

Police identified the bus driver as one Rene Gabutan. He alleged he wasn’t able to stop at a moment’s notice citing his bus’ brakes did respond immediately

Police said the victim was hit by the bus moments after disembarking from the passenger jeepney.

The victim was traveling from Tubigon to barangay Caboy before he got into the accident, police said.

Initial reports said the victim didn’t notice the bus trailing the jeepney when he alighted.

The sheer impact led to the victim’s instantaneous death.

The driver alleged he was not able to gain control of his vehicle since he tried to take the jeepney over but got stalled since there was another vehicle traveling in the opposite direction, which led to the accident.
