MOA signed on data privacy, war on false information

In an effort to secure data privacy and prevent false information the local government of Ubay in partnernership with the Information Service Delivery Network team signed a memorandum of agreement with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) at the Sangguniang Bayan (SB) session hall last Tuesday,

Vice Mayor Nelson O. Uy expressed his concern by revisiting the updated list of beneficiaries to help the town government with clear benchmark on the distribution of basic social and economic assistance.

Kagawad Efren Tanjay said there is a need for the local government unit and the Population Commission (PopCom), and the DSWD to cleanse the list and to fight false information in relation to the list of beneficiaries.

He thanked the organizers for initiating this activity.

Lawyer Bruce M. Ragas, regional director of PopCom, Region 7, based in Cebu City lauded the effort of Ubay Mayor Constantino H. Reyes for the need to improve the information service and data processing.

Ragas said the activity is the first first population-information data gathering encounter in Bohol.

He also bared Llorente was a participant in the DSWD-PopCom national convention.

Reyes welcomed the PopCome regional head and thanked him for his presence.

He said the MOA is a unifying tool for a well-knit effort in the delivery of basic services to the legitimate beneficiaries.

Ruben Boybanting, the Project Development Officer IV of PopCom focused on the features of Data Privacy Act.

He said there is a need to be aware on the handling of sensitive personal information. There are some who may be guilty of unauthorized provision of information.
