Livelihood discussions top Women’s Month culmination

The culmination of the Women’s Month in Bohol will be headlined with a panel discussion on finding ways to augment income and livelihood opportunities for womenfolk and women’s organizations.

March is known as Women’s Month since the International Day for Women is celebrated every March 8th.

Bohol, like any other places in the Philippines, takes cognizance of the role of women, not just in the household, but also in communities.

This is the reason why the province is pulling all the stops to celebrate the culmination of Women’s Month tomorrow at the Bohol Cultural Center.

No less than the Managing Editor of the Bohol Tribune, Ardy Araneta-Batoy will be the Master of Ceremonies.

The celebrations will gather personalities to help women and women’s organization to get accredited and to look for funding opportunities.

Victoriano Digal of the Cooperative Development Authority will headline the panelists in a discussion on funding opportunities including Elbert Avenido of the Department of Labor and Employment, Jerloyd Suello, of the Department of Social Welfare and Development, Cresente Vistal, also of the DSWD, lawyer Alma Marie Dalena of the Securities and Exchange Commmission, Rosemarie Bantol of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, and Maria Teresa Tay of the Department of Trade and Industry.

Acting Vice Governor Venzencio Arcamo is also expected to join the panel discussion.

Prior to the panel discussion, the provincial government team headed by the Provincial GAD Focal Person Liza Quirog will turn over the rummage sale proceeds to the Bohol Crisis Intervention Center represented by Donna Belle Mante, the center head with Maria Soccoro Trinidad the BAWIGS Chairperson and Camille Maluenda, JCI Boholano Kisses President.

Several speakers are lined up tomorrow including Gov. Edgar Chatto, and other key lady leaders of the province such as Board Member Kristine Alexie Tutor and Board Member Jade Bautista.

Providing several key entertainment numbers are women associations from Guindulman, San Isidro, Clarin, Pilar, Baclayon, Tagbilaran City and Tubigon town.
