Bohol Gov. Edgar M. Chatto and his lady, Balilihan Mayor Pureza Veloso Chatto, graced the ribbon-cutting and formal inauguration of the dressing plant of Marcela Farms, Inc. in Lomangog, Ubay.
Alturas Group of Companies top brass led by Mario Uy and his siblings welcomed other honored guests from the Department of Agriculture (DA), National Irrigation Administration (NIA), Landbank, PNB, National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS), Max Chicken Group, local and national institutional customers and partners, local chief executives led by Ubay Mayor Costan Reyes, Second District Rep. Aris Aumentado and stakeholders.
Guest Speaker in lieu of CabSec Leoncio Evasco was ASEC Jonas George Soriano who took time to explain the national government’s agenda especially Pres. Duterte’s continuous efforts to end poverty and illegal drugs in the country.
Both Gov. Chatto and ASEC Soriano recognized and thanked Alturas’ assistance to the Boholano community where its current total workforce numbers 12,000 employees, the company’s continued support to Bohol’s rising economy, and in making sure that it fulfills its social responsibility by supporting government projects and programs as well.
The dressing plant started with a daily production of 500 pieces per day. Today, it is already capable of producing 8,000 pieces per hour; with a total daily production of 24,000 or even 50,000 pieces per day, or as the need arises.
This US-based technology is the only one of its kind in the country.
Chatto gave thanks to the Alturas Group for being a family with a strong vision with a strong commitment to helping Bohol. He said all Boholanos should be proud of Alturas for being a “business with a heart.”
