The team of Saulog 2018 had already conducted a series of coordinative meetings for the various activities which are lined up to showcase the culture and heritage of Tagbilaran City.
The flagship of which are the Grand Street Dancing Competition which will drumbeat this year’s theme of faith, unity and celebration, Kumbira sa Tagbilaran featuring the iconic dishes of the City, and the Mutya sa Tagbilaran which boasts of lovely Tagbilaranon ladies who embodies virtues worthy to represent the City.
The official opening will be on March 16 to be held at Tagbilaran Friendship Park.
Saulog Tagbilaran 2018 Grand Street Dancing Competition will award P150, 000. 00 to the Grand Champion, P100, 000 to the 2nd placer, P80, 000 to the 3rd placer, P50, 000 to the 4th placer, P20,000 to the 5th placer and P10,000 as consolation prize. Also, six minor awards such as Best in Street Dancing, Best in Musicality, Best in Choreography, Best in Production Design, Best in Costume, and Best in Field Performance would be given away.
The Saulog Nightly Entertainment showcases different flavors of entertainment, with various entities leading the show. Saulog street parties are also set to ignite some dancing vibes to the young set. Of course, the 9-day Novena Masses are not to be forgotten. Kumbira sa Tagbilaran, a cook-off competition among the 15 barangays will feature Tagbilaran’s iconic dishes which would be held in the grounds of the City Hall Building.
For this year, there will be a Night Market fused with entertaining bands from March 16 to May 2.
The Saulog Festival King and Queen will also unfold in the Bohol Cultural Center on April 24, the most festive, the most colorful and the most jubilant pair will take home the prize.
The coastal barangays will also take part in the celebration by way of the Fluvial Procession on April 29.
The Talent Competition of Mutya sa Tagbilaran will be on April 20, 15 lovely girls will conquer the stage with their talents led by Lady Aira Angela Lumantas of Barangay Manga, Rueggy Mae Namoc of Barangay Ubujan, Van Yrralee Pusta of Barangay Taloto, Marian Grace Malubay of Barangay Dampas, Raclaire Stephan Trigo of Barangay San Isidro, Karen Claire Tupos of Barangay Poblacion 3, Carl Joellie Tentativa of Barangay Cabawan, Qeem Gillie Maglahus of Barangay Bool, Kate Gabreille Alemania of Barangay Cogon, Moira Lee Ampo of Barangay Mansasa, Margarett Requillo of Barangay Poblacion 2, Dann Audrey Cadenas of Barangay Booy, Lucelyn Jotojot of Barangay Tiptip, Beverly Requirme Malig-on of Barangay Dao and Cindy Lopez of Barangay Poblacion 1.
