Suicide in Dauis

Police are trying to determine if there are any foul play following the apparent suicide of a 26-year-old lad in Dauis town on Monday, belated reports said.

Reports said Jayson Barantes may have taken his own life.

The victim’s brother discovered his unresponsive body and called the first responders.

The victim was found hanging from a nearby tree with a rope tied around his neck.

The brother said the victim was having the blues for several weeks and it got worse when the victim’s live-in partner left him.

The victim was left with the custody of his two sons.

Post-mortem investigation showed the victim died due to asphyxia by hanging.
