Police are probing Cebu syndicates operating here

The police are investigating the possibility of some Cebu-based syndicates bringing their modus operandi here in Tagbilaran City.

The suspicion came about after an alleged shoplifting incident alerted the police.

The incident happened in a local market in downtown Tagbilaran.

Reports said unidentified suspected shoplifters, possibly from Cebu.

A can of milk was allegedly shoplifted from a local mart and was left in another location just adjacent.

The security guards of the shopping mall tried to chase a member of the shoplifting group, but managed to escape.

The police were able to recover eight cans of milk, seven bottles of an anti-dandruff shampoo, seven pieces of assorted shirts, an umbrella, a power bank, a cellphone charger and other belongings estimated to be worth P25,000.

Police advised the business establishments to be more alert and heighten their security.
