Illegal fishers nabbed in Anda

Police in Anda town arrested fishermen allegedly caught illegally fishing off the town’s waters, reports said on Wednesday.

Police identified the suspects as Victorio Igot, 22, Rico Dano, 30, and Ariel Siazar, 22. All are residents of Hinogotan Island, barangay Hinogotan, Bien Unido.

The trio were arrested for violating the town’s ordinance prohibiting transient fishermen to engage in fishing activities in Anda’s municipal waters.

Aside from the assorted fishing materials, police also took four kilos of assorted fish, the pumpboat and other fishing paraphernalia.
