The governor manifested his appreciation to Ambassador Marciano “Jun” Paynor of the national organizing committee for giving Bohol a chance to showcase its ability to host huge events.
The governor went on to thank the security forces who secured the delegates during their stay.
Security and support forces deployed in Bohol were about 3,000 or more.
Most of the personnel comes from Bohol with augmentation forces coming from different regional units as some come from other places in the Visayas.
He also thanked the leadership of the police and the military headed by Sr. Supt. Felipe Natividad and Brig. Gen. Arnulfo Matanguihan for their valued service in keeping Bohol safe.
Despite the challenge of the Abu Sayyaf Group incursion prior to the staging of the first ASEAN meeting here, the NOC still gave its trust to Bohol and went on to stage three more meetings.
With the combined efforts of the security forces, there were zero incidents that were logged during the three successive meetings held in Bohol.
