City’s first family leads launching of Christmas season at City Hall

The First Family led by City Mayor John Geesnell Yap, First Lady Jane Censoria Cajes-Yap and first daughter Janah laying down baby Jesus in a makeshift manger which is the focal pointof theCity Hall Christmas decoration this year.

The City Hall building was wrapped in red poinsettias sprinkled with green and gold accents lighted with pin lights all over.

The lighting ceremony was attended by the members of the 13th Sangguniang Panlungsod led by City Councilors Jonas Cacho, Greggy Gatal, Eliezer “Ondoy” Borja and Joseph Bompat, together with the City Department heads led by City Administrator Edi Borja.

The USAID-SURGE Chief of Party, Brad Lowell Baxter and Tagbilaran City Coordinator, Linda Paredes also graced the occasion. The event which was witnessed by the City Government employees was indeed a musical feast with the melodious voices of the Tagbilaran City Government Chorale singing joyful Christmascarols.

The moving performances of Noel Dela Rosa on piano and Judy Honoron vocals stunned the audience, specifically with the powerful rendition of O’ Holy Night.

Yap in his Christmas Message stressed the importance of giving, “We are thankful because we have received an early Christmas gift, the 2017 Seal of Good Local Governance. And we will continue to be thankful because we are looking for more things ahead, we will be working hard in giving our best. The essence of this season is in giving, it is indeed more blessed to give than to receive.”  Yap emphasized.
