City throws support on ‘Pantawid’ members business endeavors

The city has thrown its support to the business endeavors of the Pantawid members in the city after Philippine Carabao Center (PCC) and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) made a project presentation to City Mayor John Geesnell Yap concerning the “Dairy Box.”

The Dairy Box aims to help members of the 4Ps to have a business enterprise as part of their livelihood program. Gaudioso Calibugan represented the PCC, while the DSWD was represented by Cresente Vistal.

The project offers a collaborative team up with the City Government to mainstream the locally produced and processed dairy products made in Ubay, Bohol, a variety of food and non-food will be offered, depending on the location of the store and market profile in the area.

DSWD partnered with Dairy Box, combining the concept of its Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP)for the Pantawid beneficiaries. DSWD will fund the franchise and the management will be delegated to the 4Ps members.

Pantawid members from barangays ofDampas, Taloto, Dao and Mansasa are already running their own enterprise under the  SLP program of the DWSD. The idea of handling Dairy Box is a challenging prospect which would level up their business and management skills.

Yap, who is an entrepreneur himself, sees potential in the collaborative partnership and committed to support to the project.
