City Batang Pinoy delegates get kudos


The Tagbilaran City Delegation in Batang Pinoy got a much-deserved pat in the back after making a strong showing during the competitions held last November 10-16 in Dumaguete City, the main host for the Visayan Leg.

The team from the city went home triumphantly with 6 golds, 4 silvers and 9 bronzes.

Tagbilaran City was ranked in 12th place out of the 54 local government units who participated in the competition.

Medals came  from Karatedo with sisters Stiffany Mae and Leanne Marie Alvarez going for the win, Swimming led by Gabriel Manigque and Anthony Jude Presas, Table Tennis with Palarong Pambansa Champ Jebb Jerwin Datahan, Taekwondo with Vince Daniel Bulilan, Shekinah Sofia Garsuta, Cassiopeia Bertumen, Matthew Gabriell Javcian, Kenneth Binga and Celine Marcos and in Arnis with Christon Inting. Batang Pinoy is a sporting event which promotes the sportsmanship and union of the different young athletes across the Philippines.
