Boholanos joined nationwide simultaneous earthquake drill

Boholanos joined on Thursday the simultaneous earthquake drill together with other areas in the country with various government offices and public schools participating.

Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office head Anthony Damalerio said the information for the simultaneous earthquake drill was cascaded to government offices, public, and private schools all over Bohol that commenced at 2 in the afternoon.

Employees at the People’s Mansion, the temporary office space of the Office of the Governor, went out of the building and on to a vacant lot in front of the official residence of the Bahol governor.

At the same time, students at nearby Dr. Cecilio Putong National High School, previously known as Bohol National High School, went out of their classes after a siren was sounded simulating an earthquake emergency.

Several police stations in various towns in the province also held their own earthquake prepareness drill.

Preparing for earthquakes is an important thing for Boholanos.

Boholanos are no stranger to the horrible effects of earthquake as the island province is frequently hit by mild earthquakes.

Back in 2013, the province was hit by a huge earthquake that changed the lives of the people here.
