The Philippine Institute of Environmental Planners (PIEP-Bohol) hosted starting Thursday, the three-day Regional Forum on Urban Planning and Sustainable Tourism here.
The forum’s theme is “Sustainable Tourism Amidst a Changing Climate” with urban planners, community development practitioners, government development planners/officers, economists, public administrators, environmental planners and associates, real estate developers, as well as academe, among others.
As participants, whose mandates and advocacies relate to planning a community to become a better place to live, and in the process, improve the quality of life of its inhabitants.
Guests were PIEP National President Maria Teresa Quimpo, National Treasurer Jeanette Cruz, Board Member Niceforo Iroy, PRC Board on Environmental Planning Hon. Dolores Endriga, Bohol Pres. Efren Logrono, and Ramon C. Sevilla as convenor.
Gov. Edgar M. Chatto mentioned Bohol’s three pillars of development, eco-cultural tourism, agri-industrial development, and ICT as very important drivers for development.
Provincial Planning and Development Officer, who is currently in secondment as the SecGen for the HUDCC, lawyer John Titus Vistal, presented to guests Bohol’s overarching development framework and other upcoming programs and projects of Bohol. (Leah Marchil Sumampong)
