Bohol get funds for roads under the Kalsada program

Gov. Edgar Chatto announced Friday morning, July 28,. notice of allocation of funds under the Kalsada Program or conditional matching grants for roads.

The notice of allocation from the Bureau of Treasury was for P302M for the following priority areas: P116M for Alegria Catigbian Baang Hagbuaya road; P109M for Maribojoc Pagnituan; Tabuan Basac road and P83M for Canmanico Anonang Valencia road.

About P134M to follow for Dimiao Oac Bilar.

The Kalsada Program was developed under AusAID and DFAT based on the Provincial Roads Management Facility (PRMF) program.

This means places like Bohol and other provinces, with Kalsada or matching grants program, provincial roads will have been concreted in five years.

The Kalsada program is separate from DPWH road programs, and tourism highways programs.

It was lobbied by Chatto to the League of Provinces of the Philippines so that national roads, tourism roads will have been concreted under respective DPWH and tourism programs and provincial roads will be taken cared of under the Kalsada program. (Leah Marchil Sumampong)
