At least 700 Boholanos trooped to the Bohol Cultural Center yesterday to take advantage of the Job Fair backed by the Bohol Employment and Placement Office (BEPO).
The Job Fair is one of the regular activities of the BEPO aiming to help the Boholanos to land a job and to reduce the poverty rate.
The BEPO conducts the job fair twice a year, said office head Ma.Vilma Yorong.
BEPO invited several local and international companies to reach out to the job market here.
The Job Fair is a one-day affair.
BEPO assures the applicant that the agencies invited are not fly by night and with complete documents from relevant agencies such as the POEA and DOLE.
It is also a way to bring government services closer to the people by inviting job providers here instead of the applicants going to Manila or Cebu.
The BEPO also conducts pre-employment seminars as a way to educate those who are interested to get into the workforce and to prevent illegal recruitment.
Meanwhile, BEPO also conducts mobile services for those who are in need to renew or apply for the services of Professional Regulatory Commission, Philippine Statistics Authority formerly NSO, Philpost and LTFRB this coming November 17 at the Bohol Cultural Center.
The mobile services are just one among the extension services provided to the people of Bohol for convenience.
Boholanos need not to go to places such as Cebu to have their documents or to renew their licenses and instead take advantage of the mobile services.
